Board Membership and Appointments
The Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act specifies the mix of psychologists and lay members on the Board. As well as the legislatively determined composition, efforts are made to have within the collective of the Board a wide variety of experience in the practice of psychology and other skills useful to the Board as a body corporate e.g. legal and business experience. The Board operates on the collective responsibility principle. Board members may have been nominated by an organisation, but in no way do they represent the nominating bodies at Board meetings. Board members are remunerated for their time carrying out Board work. Board members set their payment rates. The rates were set on 22 August 2002: Chairperson $120.00 per hour Member $100.00 per hour |
